In 2004, Walt Disney released THE INCREDIBLES to tremendous worldwide acclaim. Following the misfortunes of a superhero family forced to live as a "normal" family, this story was penned and directed by SIMPSONS veteran writer Brad Bird.

The sixth Disney and Pixar co-production was not only well-received, it spawned a phenomenal merchandising frenzy that had children of all ages scrambling for everything from cups to pajamas to toys to lunchboxes. It continues to be one of the most-viewed Disney films. Indeed, it has quickly climbed the ranks to become a Disney animated classic.

The story begins with Mr. Incredible on his way to his wedding when he is suddenly confronted with the challenge of saving a man falling from a building. In the process of saving him, he inadvertently damages a passenger train. Following his wedding, he is slapped with a string of lawsuits, as it turns out the falling man was trying to commit suicide and the passengers filed for damages. Reacting to the public outcry, the government is forced to declare superhero-ism illegal, driving the superheros, Mr. Incredible and his fiances as well, into hiding.

Craig T. Nelson famously voices Mr. Incredible, while Academy award-winner Holly Hunter voices his wife, Elastigirl. They have settled down to raise their two children, Dash and Violet, who were born with super powers but are forbidden to use them. Their baby, Jack Jack, seems to be a normal child, much to Mr. Incredible's disappointment. Forced to live as "normal" people, working normal jobs, and going to normal schools, life is one dreary misfortune after another.

A crazed ex-fan of Mr. Incredible is determined, after being inadvertently snubbed by his idol, to reek vengeance. He begins to lure unsuspecting superheroes to his island lair as fodder for his indestructible superhero killing machine. Mr. Incredible, eager to get back to his former life, accepts a mission to the island to investigate. Little does he know he is being lured to his death.

Meanwhile, his wife Helen (Elastigirl) maintains home and hearth. She doesn't suspect anything is wrong until she notices a tear in her husband's old superhero outfit. After a bit of snooping, she discovers her husband has broken his promise to not fight crime, putting the family in jeopardy. Once Helen learns about his secret mission, she flies on a jet to confront him.

It so happens, Dash and Violet have managed to stowaway on the plane. Somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, the plane is attacked, forcing the children to fend for themselves. Helen has to quickly get her family working as a team to survive. Can they band together in time to save Mr. Incredible? Leaping from closets across the country, MONSTERS INC. hit the theaters running in 2001. It opened to positive reviews and tremendous audience approval. Co-produced by Pixar and Disney, the film went on to gross more than $524 million -- rivaling only "The Lion King" in terms of overall box office gross. It also went on to win an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Monsters, Inc. is the main power supplier to Monsteropolis, a city reminiscent of New York in the 1930s. The monsters employed at Monsters, Inc. clock in every day to power the city with the screams of human children. Do you recall those dreaded nights when you could have sworn something was moving in the closet? Well, little did you know your screams would be powering a city of monsters. If you had reached out to fight them off you would have found out these monsters are convinced one touch from a human is considered toxic. If they should ever touch a human, or any of their belongings, they have to endure a rigorous sanitation process that leaves them hairless.

As fate would have it, the highest rated monster at Monster Inc., Sulley (voiced by John Goodman), accidentally brings a human child back to Monsteropolis. Sulley, in a frightful panic, hides her with the help of his good buddy, Mike (voiced by Billy Crystal). They soon discover humans are not toxic after all -- in fact, making them laugh generates more power than a scream ever could. Sulley and Mike hatch a plan to disguise Boo as a monster to get her back home. The insidious monster Randall Boggs (voiced by Steve Buscemi) has devised a power extractor that can double the scream-based fuel systems.

Sulley smuggles Boo straight to the CEO of Monsters Inc., where he is roped into teaching the new recruits some basic scare tactics. Seeing his frightening display, Boo blows her cover by bursting into tears. Sulley soon discovers the CEO, working along with Randall, is behind the new scream extractor but not before Boo is taken from him. He and Mike are quickly exiled to the Himalayas, where they begin to search frantically for the portal that will get them back to Monsteropolis in time to save Boo. Can they get back to Boo in time? What will happen to the children of the world if the scream extractor works?

This fluid film was the end-product of the hard work of the digital masters at Pixar. A great example of their meticulous work is Sulley's luxurious fur coat. The programmers rendered over two million individual hairs to give him a completely lifelike look and feel. Pixar invented a proprietary program called RenderMan DSO (Dynamic Shared Object) that effectively distributed the hair on any given character and added depth to the renderings. The end effect is a stunning film that doesn't disappoint.

They also check out the truth in the story about a man being electrocuted by sandblasting a plastic pipe and, one of the more popular tests, find out if a playing card really can be deadly when flicked at high speeds on edge. Curious? This is a great episode to watch!

Episode 30: Anything to do with sex tends to be popular and this episode, though it doesn`t actually contain anything risqu, is no exception. If you`ve heard the old story of a civil war soldier being shot through the lower body and the bullet then lodging in the uterus of a young woman who became pregnant, you`ll have an inkling as to what this interesting episode is about! The other myths include whether or not it can be fatal to use a phone in a thunderstorm and the re-enactment of a boat heading out to sea with the vehicle still attached.

Episode 35: Have you heard the one about the human slingshot? Apparently Mexicans were hurtling themselves over the border via giant slingshot, aiming so perfectly that they landed neatly on a mattress placed on the US side of the border. This is definitely a task for the MythBusters cast and they set about to find out if humans really can fly safely through the air.

Episode 67: Fans love a good shootout, something the Busters are famous for and this episode features three different gun related myths to put to rest. These more obscure myths include the supposition that two Civil War bullets that collided in midair fused together and the possibility of killing a sniper by shooting through his gun scope. The guys also investigate and try to disprove the story about a criminal`s bullet jamming the empty chamber in a policeman`s gun. And, as a bonus, we get a chance to find out just how dangerous a hammer really is!

Episode 72: Are you curious about the statement that you can`t fold a piece of paper in half more than 7 times? This episode of Myth Busters tests that theory to the max by building a sheet of paper the size of a football field to fold, but that`s not the most exciting part. How about a daring escape from a sinking car? We all know how dangerous it is to be inside a vehicle when it hits the water, but just how difficult is it to get out once you`re submerged?

Located in Death Valley is a castle that was built as a vacation retreat for Albert Mussey Johnson and his wife. Stories told how the castle was built with money earned from a gold mine that he had invested in in the 20's. Actually, there was no gold mine and his investment was in a dream but out of it he did build his vacation retreat.

Walter Scott was a miner, a dreamer and apparently a scammer to boot. He convinced Mr. Johnson to invest in the gold mine in Death Valley. It was probably going along just fine (with Scott getting his money from the investment) until Mr. Johnson decided to visit. He thought a tour of the mine would be a good idea. It was hard to do since there wasn't a mine to see.

Mr. Johnson and his wife liked Walter Scott, even after the knowledge that there was no mine. Mr. Johnson became enamored by Death Valley and with the encouragement of his wife built a vacation retreat. Although the retreat was actually named Death Valley Ranch it became known as Scotty's Castle.

The vacation retreat became a tourist attraction. The rich and famous came to see the castle built from the riches of the gold mine. Mr. Johnson never disputed the fact that the retreat was built with the money made from the gold mine. Probably a good thing for Mr. Scott or he would have been known for the liar he was.
